Low Light Handgun is an 8 hour low light class where you will learn the skills needed to defend yourself in a low light environment. Rarely do we get to choose the time and place a violent encounter will take place and understanding how to use artificial light is critical to your defensive posture and needs to be trained. This class will cover use of artificial light on a flat range and around structures, barricades, vehicles and other people; low light malfunctions and reloads; medical procedures in low light; no light engagement; and tactical movement.

This is NOT a basic class, you need to already have safe and effective handgun skills prior to this class. We require that you have already attended a basic/ intermediate handgun class from us or another reputable instructor prior to attending or have instructor approval.

Training Objectives:

  • Use of artificial light
  • Defensive handgun use in low light
  • Tactical movement in low light
  • Malfunctions in low light
  • Medical procedures in low light

Equipment Needed:

  • Quality handgun with 3 mags minimum
  • High output handheld light (surefire, streamlight ect and as bright as you can afford, 600 lumens or better highly recommended (contact us for recommendations))
  • Belt attached strong side or appendix holster (no nylon, full leather, trigger guard only (vanguard style), clipdraw, or paddle style holsters allowed)
  • Sturdy shoes
  • 2-4 full size chemlights
  • 300-400 rounds handgun ammo
  • Hearing protection (electronic preferred)
  • Clear eyepro
  • Clothing that will allow concealment and weather appropriate
  • SOFT or CAT tourniquet
  • Water and snacks

Optional Equipment:

  • Weapon mounted light
  • IFAK (individual first aid kit)
  • If you are Military or LE – duty gear if desired
